A massive silver globe set back from the busy Prenzlauer Allee, the Zeiss Planetarium is one of the most modern stellar theatres in Europe.

The Zeiss-Großplanetarium (Zeiss Major Planetarium or Zeiss Grand Planetarium) was opened in October 1987 after only two years of construction as one of the largest and most modern stellar theaters in Europe. With its outer dome diameter of 30 meters, the Zeiss-Großplanetarium is one of the largest planetariums in Germany.

The Zeiss Planetarium pursues a program philosophy that aims to combine scientific knowledge with entertaining and artistic elements with the help of composers, graphic artists and actors to create a unified whole that gives visitors an experience with a strong emotional impact. The aim is to combine education, recreation and relaxation.
