The Liebermann Villa at the shores of Lake Wannsee is dedicated to the work of the impressionist painter Max Liebermann.
The Liebermann Villa stands on a 7000 square meter property on Lake Wannsee. It was built in 1909/1910 and served as the Liebermanns' summer residence. In addition to the restored summer house and Max Liebermann's garden, paintings depicting the house and garden can be seen in the museum. There is a museum café in the Liebermann family's former dining room, which offers an enchanting view of the garden and Wannsee, especially from the terrace. A visit to the café is only possible with a museum admission ticket.
Works by the impressionist Berlin painter can be admired in the permanent exhibition of the Liebermann Villa. Highlights include the paintings "View of the Wannsee with Sailing Boats" (around 1925), "Martha Liebermann and Granddaughter" (1922) and "Old Wannsee Street with Sunday Strollers" (1926). The Liebermann works are complemented by current special exhibitions that deal thematically with Max Liebermann, his time and his contemporaries.
